Maia Emily Bouchier was born on 5 December 1998 in Kensington, London, to a multi-ethnic family. Her mother is Iranian and her father is English — growing up in a cultural mix where cricket was not just a game, but a way of life.
She attended Rugby School as a child and later Oxford Brookes University. It was clear from her teenage years that Maia was a different kind of player who would carve her own path.
