Career Beginnings
Beyoncé met with LaTavia Roberson at an audition when she was 8 years old for an all-girl entertainment group. In Houston she was in a group called Girl’s Tyme with three other girls. R&B producer Arne Frager saw this group and brought them to his Northern California studio. And they perform in the largest talent show on national TV at the time. Girl’s Tyme group failed to win the competition. Later her father resigned from her Job and started managing the group. Due to financial crisis, Beyoncé’s parents were forced to sell their cars house. Also, they moved into separated apartments.
After that, the group continued performing as an opening act for other girls group. In the year 1996, these girls began recording their debut album under an agreement with Sony Music.
